Day 3: Lost and Love in Bangkok
This was my 3rd day in our journey to AEDCEE. There were so many new things that I will show you in this story. Started from the road from mbak Darti’s dormitory, lost in, and finished by love in Bangkok.
A little street along these dormitories
Wednesday, 27 May 2015
We would have a seminar session in Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel.
By our limited connection, Suci had asked mas Didit’s friend and he answered that mas Didit would go to the Hotel at 8 o’clock. It means that we had 30 minutes more to walk along the BTS Street. After we had closed the dormitory door, we started to walk along the street. I could feel a good panorama. The hot condition in this area didn't make me feel regret to live here for 5 days later. Well, Bangkok has so hot temperature. When we were walking along the street, we saw some dormitory buildings and some merchantmen. It was so busy. A lot of people were buying anything started from packed rice until Durian.

We were buying a "rujak" |
What do you want to buy? Rice? Apple? Durian? Meat? |
At this morning, mbak Darti, Suci, and me were buying chicken rice for our breakfast. I've tell you how this food looks like in my 2nd story.
Next Station, Nana.
After we had eaten the food, we were walking to Phaya Tai BTS Station and buying a ticket to Siam. When we were in the train, something ludicrous sound coming out from the train.
“Next Station, Nana. Next Station, Nana. Next Station, Nana.” I looked at Suci’s eyes immediately and we were laughing together. Nana. It sounds good. Hihi. It happened because the accent of Thailand people is different from Indonesia so when they said Nana, it was so ludicrous. It was not like in a Teletubies but it had a special accent.
We will always remember this statement, “Next station, Nana.” Hihi.

Lab Work Report, Oh My God
After we had arrived to Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel, we were shocked because the seminar series was not for the participants. Only some reviewers and invited lecturers who were allowed to follow the seminar. So we didn’t anything to do because we spent that day to the seminar series.
“How about going around Bangkok?” Said mas Didit.
“Where are our destinations mas Didit?”
“Look this one.” Mas Didit showed me a map of Bangkok destination. We were looking together and choosing some destinations.
“Ok. But I’ve to finish my lab work report first.” I said to them after they had found some destinations and how to get there.
“Ok Ellena. We will wait you until 10 a.m.”
“No. 11 a.m., please?
“It’s Ok mbak El, let do it.”
Well, even we were going to Bangkok, we also had some tasks in campus like lab work report. I had 2 and Suci 3 but we can done it all in Bangkok and sent to our friends who will print it and give it to our assistant. My friend was Gigih. Thank you so much my partner in Digital Electronics and Measuring Method Lab Work, Gigih.
These are some our destination when we were lost in Bangkok but then fall in love with Bangkok.

Grand Palace
Although the Royal Family used to live here full time, nowadays it is mainly used only for ceremonial purposes and is no longer the royal residence.

King Chulalongcurn Museum
This is a Thailand King's Museum. This is located near Grand Palace and we don't have to pay to enter this museum.

National Museum
National museum is the largest house of collection of Thai art and artifacts in the country. It exhibits relics from the rule of King Rama IV's rule. The collection includes Thai artifacts dated from Dvaravati, Srivijaya, to Sukhothai extensice of regional Asian Buddhist Arts. Because we just have 1 hour more, we didn't spent our time here. We just take a picture actually.

This was my first time to look elephant in Thailand. Elephant is the icon in Thailand but I never found the real elephant here. Well, it just a statue. |
Tuk-tuk
Tuk-tuk is a special transportation in Bangkok. If in Jakarta has Bajaj, Bangkok has Tuk-tuk.
